How it works

A lesson is the beginning.
Follow-through makes it useful.

Private mathematics coaching for high school students, from algebra and geometry through precalculus and calculus, including AP coursework.

Every program includes

  • One private 60-minute online math session each service week
  • A specific action plan agreed at the end of each session
  • A weekly parent email with the plan and a progress update
  • Two proactive student check-ins each service week
  • Brief between-session question support on school days, with a next-business-day response window

A small roster. A consistent coach.

Mike personally coaches a maximum of 10 active students. Your appointment is reserved for your purchased term. Returning after a break depends on availability.

School-year enrollment secures continuity for the full agreed program.

A typical week

For a Monday student, check-ins normally fall on Wednesday and Friday. Timing adjusts to the student’s lesson day and school deadlines.

Weekly lesson: teach and plan

Review progress, learn the mathematics, and agree on two or three specific actions. The student leaves with the plan; the parent receives an email copy and progress note.

First check-in: progress and obstacles

Is the student on track, stuck, or not started? Mike reviews the response and helps identify the next step.

Second check-in: follow-through

Record what is completed, still in progress, or unfinished. Flag questions and upcoming tests for the next lesson.

Build independence, then reassess.

At the end of Math Reset or Math Momentum, we review progress together. If your child is ready to work independently, they leave with a plan. If more help is useful, you can request another program, subject to availability.

Students complete their own work. Coaching supports understanding and follow-through; it does not guarantee grades or assignment completion. Parents are contacted when their involvement is needed.
